This is a Massive Silicone Work Mat, it is suitble for rolling pastry, dough and fondant. For this kind of work, it's best to either lightly dust with flour or apply a tiny little vegetable shortening (like TREX) before use.

Bear in mind that being silicone, it can be cut through quite easily. Therefore, it is important not to use sharp objects on this item. If you want to trim round a piece of fondant or pastry to an accurate size, LIGHTLY use a blunt table knife or there will be marks on it.
It is easy to clean - just wipe over with a cloth and the gunge gone. Saves trying to scrape bread, fondant peels or pastry dough scrap off your work surface.
You can even pre roll pastry to size and then roll it up in the mat. Put it in a bag in the fridge to keep the air out and it's ready in advance for when you need it.
